The Lunarville project has been planned by the European Space Agency or ESA since 2015. ESA is trying to build a village on the Moon to replace the International Space Station, which has been in orbit for a long time. Based on the latest information, ESA will start building Lunarville in 2024. This will be the biggest technological innovation in the world.
The construction will be carried out by the Darmstadt Technical University, Germany. The cost of a space station alone costs 75 billion pounds sterling or 1,500 trillion rupiah. Of course, the funds needed will be even greater if you want to build a space station and its villages.
2. Underground City of the Moon
Some scientists propose different concepts for the colonization of the Moon. The concept is a city under the surface of the Moon. The underground city of the Moon is believed to be able to protect human colonies from meteor hits and radiation that leads to the Moon. However, this concept is considered to still have many shortcomings.
One of the most striking drawbacks is that it would cost a lot of money to build an underground city on the Moon. This can be estimated from the mobilization of heavy digging equipment and also remote control from Earth to control the heavy equipment. The costs will be much greater than Lunarville.
3. Lava Tubes
The Lava Tube concept came from the majority of NASA or American Space Agency scientists. Lava Tubes or lava tubes on the Moon are natural columns or tubes formed by lava flows from volcanoes. The latest theory states that the column is very sturdy and strong enough to protect a human colony on the Moon without the need for excavation.
The diameter of the Lava Tube is also estimated to reach one kilometre. This area is considered sufficient to form a city or village on the Moon for a human colony.
